It is not necessary to have a lawyer to participate in mediation only highly recommended that each person get independent legal advice to assure their rights and responsibilities have been accurately represented in the final agreement, especially in matters involving Family Law and Mediation.

Confidentiality:
One of the hallmarks of Mediation is confidentiality.
No information will be shared without express permission*.
* The exception to confidentiality is that if the mediator receives any information about threats of harm or violence to you and especially to children. In that case they are obligated by law to report the information to the appropriate agency.
